CeraSleeves takes 2nd place in the Hessen Ideas Competition

Four Teams form Darmstadt Awarded

The winners of the Hessen Ideas Competition have been determined! And four of the winning teams are from Darmstadt! The chemistry start-up project CeraSleeve® secures 2nd place, and the plastic engineers from FLIPoQ claim the 3rd place! MySympto and ARCHIPLAN each won the Audience Award!

CeraSleeves takes 2nd place

The founding team of CeraSleeve® with Nicole Rath, Mathias Stanzel, and Augustin Coreth has succeeded with their patented material innovation CeraSleeve®, which equips papers with a thin silica layer with water-resistant or water-repellent properties. This allows the start-up from the Technical University of Darmstadt to make disposable cups, food packaging, or kitchen paper recyclable and thus sustainable. CeraSleeve® revolutionizes paper production!

FlipoQ awarded third place.

FLIPoQ from the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences aims to sustainably change the world of additive manufacturing. The team led by Jens Butzke, Birk Schefczik, Christian Ladner, Linda Phetsananh, and Marius Mischlich has developed a novel technology in the 3D printing process that enables resource-efficient production of additively manufactured plastic components. The founders supported by HIGHEST address two classic problems of the fused deposition modeling: they require fewer support structures and have no problems with the adhesion of the component to the build platform, significantly expanding the variety of materials. Currently, the team is preparing for the market launch of a completely new printer prototype.

Congratulations to all winning teams!

The digital emergency ward MySympto and the architects from ARCHIPLAN, both nominated by Hessian.AI and supported by HIGHEST, captured the hearts of the audience! We are proud of you! And, of course, we congratulate all the winners of the Hessen Ideas Competition!

The first place was won by LARABICUS from the University of Kassel, and the third place by CNS – Coded Network Semantics from the Justus-Liebig-University Giessen! Congratulations to all winners and finalists of 2023!

The Hessen Ideas Competition features the best entrepreneurial ideas from Hessian universities. It aims to foster an entrepreneurial culture at Hessian universities and strengthen the connections between them. Above all, the competition helps spread the ideas of university members beyond the borders of Hessen! Go for it!
