On the first Tuesday of every month, you can have an informal conversation with the InnovationScouts about the potential of your research—even if you believe it has no obvious application beyond academia. Where? At the Idea-Café.
Whether you have an early-stage idea, an interesting observation from your research, or are simply curious, we’ll take a fresh look at your work together, explore possible application opportunities, and discuss what the next steps could be. Every conversation is completely confidential and comes with no obligation.
What can I expect?
On the first Tuesday of every month, the InnovationScouts visit different locations across campus. Researchers and students are welcome to drop by, ask questions, and explore new perspectives on their research together with the InnovationScouts.
What should I bring?
Most importantly, a willingness to talk. You don’t need a fully developed idea, a presentation, or any preparation—just drop by.
Do I need to register?
No. Simply stop by during the advertised time slot.
About the InnovationScouts
Every day, new scientific insights emerge at the Technical University of Darmstadt. Some create impact directly within academia, while others open up opportunities beyond it—often in ways that only become apparent through conversation. With their diverse academic backgrounds, the three InnovationScouts help researchers identify potential, explore possible pathways, and—if desired—connect with the right people and support services at TU Darmstadt.
